The Bible tells us to follow in Jesus’ steps For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” Hebrews 2:14-17. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 6:19-20. “Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.” Hebrews 5:7-9. ![]() Jesus had to fight and obey to be saved from sin and death But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God.” John 8:39-40. “Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle-I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying-a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.” 1 Timothy 2:5-7. The apostle Paul refers to “the Man Jesus Christ” And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:5-8. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. Jesus humbled Himself and came in the likeness of men “By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.” 1 John 4:2-3. The Spirit of God testifies that Jesus came in the flesh “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Luke 2:52. ![]() ![]() For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.’” Matthew 16:24-25. ![]() “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
